Charity Football Game for The CATS Foundation – Update
We just wanted to give a quick update for everyone on the Charity Match for THE CATS FOUNDATION as it’s now only one month to go.
We have 15 players confirmed for the game which is great news (although our striker Martin has just had surgery on a broken wrist so isn’t 100% sure he’ll be ok in time, so we may call up one more player). It’s roll on roll off subs so don’t worry about having to last the whole game. As for our opposition, Geordies Giants, they have almost sorted their final team and are looking forward to the game. However, they are all pretty handy (with their feet) so we expect you to all be over the park this next month doing shuttle runs, dribbling round cones, running half marathons, doing keep ups in the lounge whilst watching all time premier league goals!
Getting there
It looks like there is no Circle line on the underground at all on this day and the Hammersmith line is part closed (you got to love London) so for those coming from Essex into Liverpool Street, there is no direct tube to Latimer road. You will need to take the central line to White City, take a 3 minute walk to Wood Lane station, then jump on the Hammersmith line to Latimer road. It should only take 40 minutes in total.
After the football game the plan is for everyone to head to the Garden Bar where we have an area booked from 5pm. The nearest tube station is Latimer Road and once there we will be doing the winning team and man of the match presentation – and also hopefully a raffle draw.
Things to remember
Please remember to bring your £20 on the day. You are welcome to give this to me before the day of the event, but please appreciate that I don’t want to be chasing people for it for days after.
For spectators entry is only £5 and this will also all go to THE CATS FOUNDATION (children are free entry). Someone will be collecting the money before or during the match.
Feel free to ask friends, other halves etc to come along and watch, there is undercover seating incase the weather isn’t great and all are welcome to join us in the pub after the game for some drinks.
Please remember that the pitch is 3G artificial turf, so no metal studs are allowed. You are allowed to wear moulded studs, moulded blades and astro trainers. Full kit and training t-shirts are being provided but you will need to bring your own shinpads.
We really appreciate you all helping out with this day, hopefully we’ll raise a good amount of money and help to get THE CATS FOUNDATION more exposure.
